The school is known for its high standard of moral and academic education.
5 LESSONS
Ocean of Light Primary School offers a safe and nurturing environment for students aged three years old (Kindy) to 11 years old (Class 6).
In line with the philosphy of the school, moral education is a strong feature of our school’s program and students gather daily to engage in lively activities (songs, drama, dance, art) centred around the ‘Virtue of the Week’.Teachers use materials produced by the Virtues Project as the basis of this program but also draw on a range of religious and secular sources to guide students in understanding the virtues and applying them to their daily lives.
The focus on developing virtues shapes our approach to behaviour management and student discipline. At our school, we do not tolerate any form of violence, either physical or verbal, by either students or teachers.
“Let [them]consider that whatever concerneth the education of children is of the first importance. Let them put forth every effort in this regard, for when the bough is green and tender it will grow in whatever way ye train it. Therefore is it incumbent upon [them] to rear their little ones even as a gardener tendeth his young plants. Let them strive by day and by night to establish within their children faith and certitude, the fear of God, the love of the Beloved of the worlds, and all good qualities and traits.
Students are guided to solve problems peacefully through consultation and seeking the assistance of their peers and teachers. When students have problems abiding by the rules of the school, they are counselled and offered opportunities to reflect on their behaviour; identifying the virtues that they need to practice and developing strategies to avoid similar problems in the future.
Our Primary School uses the Cambridge International Primary Curriculum Framework from Class 1 to Class 6 as the basis of its academic programs in the core curriculum areas of Science, Mathematics and English Language.
This provides our students with a strong foundation on which to further develop their skills when they go on to secondary education, either at Ocean of Light or elsewhere.
Students are assessed regularly through formative assessments and also through diagnostic assessments, which are internationally standardized (Running Records, asTTle, Burt Word Reading Test, etc). These assessments assist us to monitor our students progress in line with the progress of students of a similar age around the world.
Please feel free to come by our school for a visit or a tour. We are always happy to share our school with prospective families. If you require further information, please contact us using the form:

undesirable trait should manifest itself, let her counsel the child and punish him, and use means based on reason, even a slight verbal chastisement should this be necessary. It is not, however, permissible to strike a child,
or vilify him for the child’s character will be totally perverted if he be subjected to blows or verbal abuse.” ‘Abdu’l-Bahá: Compilations, Lights of Guidance, p. 152
We have also found that this curriculum provides students with an internationally standardised education which allows them to easily transition to schools around the world with sufficient
strength in their basic skills to make continued progress. Students also have lessons in Social Studies, Computer Skills, Art and Physical Education assessments.
